Center for the Study of Human Rights The Center for the Study of Human Rights at Nankai University was established on April 8, 2005. The Center is an interdisciplinary research institution under the co-leadership of Nankai University and the China Society for Human Rights Studies, located at The Zhou Enlai School of government, Nankai University . The Mission of the Center is, through the cooperation between the Nankai University and the China Society for Human Rights Studies, to promote the research on human rights both in theory and in practical problems, and to impulse the development of the cause of human rights protection in China . Meanwhile, through the interdisciplinary researches on the issues of human rights, the Center will promote the different disciplines, such as political science, sociology, law, history, economics, public administration, and so on, in close cooperation at Nankai University , and enhance the construction and development of these disciplines. Mr. Qian Xiaoqian and Professor Hong Guoqi have been invited as the Center's honorary chairmen. The Center is under dual-director management. Professor Xue Jinwen, the CCP party secretary of Nankai University, and Professor Dong Yunhu, vice chairman and Secretary-General of the China Society for Human Rights Studies, serve as center's directors; Professor Chang Jian, from the Zhou Enlai School of Government, serves as executive deputy director; Professor Zhao ZhengQun, from Law School, and Dr. Zhong Guo Hui, from the College of History, serve as deputy directors of the center; Professor Hong Guoqi, the former CCP party secretary of Nankai University, serves as the Chairman of Academic Committee, and Professor Zhu Guanglei, the Dean of Nankai University, serves as the Deputy Chairman. The Center's research staffs come from the Zhou Enlai School of Government, the College of Law , the College of History , the College of Economics , and the Department of Philosophy of Nankai University , and China Society for Human Rights Studies.
